We have 2 boule courts at Bergs gård. Here you can play boules with the whole family, balls and instruction are included when you book a court.

The boule courts are located adjacent to our outdoor terrace next to Ivar’s food stall & Vera’s café. Take the opportunity to buy something good to eat or drink for the game.

History of Boule

Where does the boule game come from? To the last question you often get the answer: from France. It is true that boule came to Sweden from France. It was introduced in the 1940s by French immigrants and Prince Bertil made it widely known.

In the beginning, of course, there were “throwaway moments”. Homo Erectus probably threw stones at birds and smaller animals. The question is whether they eventually began training to practice accuracy and thus hunting luck. If such training existed, one can well imagine that it took place under game and competition-like forms. Playing and playing with marbles and balls has probably always entertained humans and perhaps all today’s variants of marbles and balls have the same origin. The tools and rules have since developed in different directions.

Game rules Boule

Rules SHORT VERSION

Simply explained, boules is about throwing balls as close to the small ball, also called the little ball, as possible. But first the little one has to be thrown out and land somewhere between 6-10 meters away. Each team then throws a ball. The team that ends up furthest from the little one continues to throw until they get a ball that is closest. Then it’s the other team’s turn.

When all the balls have been thrown, the team closest to the little one gets one point for each ball that is closer than the opposing team’s best. Only one team gets points in each round. And it is the winners who get to throw out the little one in the next round.

First to 13 points wins.

STRATIFICATION
Boule is always played with two teams against each other.

TRIPLE: Played three against three, with two balls each.
