The MTB-Arenas trails
We are Sörmland’s largest MTB arena with about 35 km of bike trails. Below you will find a short description of the different trails and what is required of you as a cyclist.
The trail system is growing every year and in addition to the 35 km of forest trails, there is also a skills area to practice cycling technique. Here you can see the area map of the trail system.
Green trails - very easy:
1. Little brother's wave 30 m
Description: Little Brother’s Wave is a tiny, tiny weatherproof pump track for balance bikes.
Technical difficulty: Easy for balance bike lovers.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: Be able to get around on a balance bike.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Tiny.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
2. Grandpa's tech track 360 m
Description: Farfars Tech Track is a short, weatherproof tech track that you can use if, for example, you as a beginner want to practise many different trail and course characters in a small area or to rev up for all the other forest trails and tech tracks Grandpa’s starts and ends at the playground.
Technical difficulty: Green if you want, but with obstacles that you can choose to try and then it will be a little more difficult but you can also round them. The course contains both excavated parts, pumps, balance obstacles and rocks.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: The lower loop is very easy if you avoid balance obstacles. If you add the upper eight, you need to be able to shift, brake and shift your center of gravity.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Small.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
3. Pump track 300 m
Description: The pump track is a short, weatherproof technical track that also includes a jump line. This means that you can practice both pump technique and jumping technique. WARNING! Start carefully with the jumps that also can be rolled through.
Technical difficulty: Green lower loop that is very simple, which you can cycle through or “pump” your way through without a single pedal stroke if you just learn the technique. It turns red if you take off on the jump line and then you need to master jumping with a bike, otherwise we ask you to roll through the jumps.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: The lower loop can be pedaled through, but the point is to learn to “pump” and not pedal. If you take off on the jump line, it places high demands if you just want to jump or you start carefully and learn jumping technique gradually.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Small.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
4. Lilla Kalven 100 m
Description: Lilla Kalven is an easy parallel course for our little guests. It is a landscaped, dug, gravelled and weatherproof trail of 100 meters. The trail starts a bit up Ekhagen’s uphill.
Technical difficulty: Green – easy. No jumps or heels, some pumps, but the faster you ride, the more demanding the turns become.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: You need to be able to control brakes and turn.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Small downhill, then you have to cycle up and then it takes a little more but only a little.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof
5. Gröngölingen 1.6 km
Description: Gröngölingen is a simple, landscaped, dug, gravelled and weatherproof trail. The trail starts after Mördarbacken just before Anita’s korsning and ends down at PumpTracken. Others go downhill in part. Take it neatly if you’re new.
Technical difficulty: Green – easy if you want. No jumps or heels, some pumps, but the faster you ride, the more demanding the turns become.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: You must be able to control the brakes, shift gears and turn.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Low. A lap doesn’t require much for those who don’t intend to ride fast. The start is after you have climbed Mördarbacken and it in itself requires you to be a little stronger or lead the bike.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
6. Ekhagens uppförsled 500 m
Description: The uphill trail that takes you from the lower part of Ekhagen’s flowpark to all the technical courses in the area, but also to Arvid’s Flowtrail.
Technical difficulty: Green – easy gravelled trail that takes you up.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: No
Physical demands on the cyclist: Low for young people and adults, but children often push the bike a short distance of the trail where it is a little steeper and then jump on the bike again.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
7. Arvid's flowtrail 1,2 km
Description: Arvid’s Flowtrail is a lovely, easy, landscaped, dug, gravelled and weather-proof trail. The trail starts above Ekhagen’s Flowpark and you can reach it via Ekhagen’s uppförsled.
Technical difficulty: Green – easy if you want. No jumps or heels, some pumps, but the faster you ride, the more demanding the turns become.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: You need to be able to control brakes, shift gears, and turn.
Physical demands on the cyclist:Low. A lap doesn’t require much for those who don’t intend to ride fast. The start is after you have climbed Ekhagen’s uppförsled and that in itself requires you to be a tiny bit stronger.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof
Blue Trails - Easy:
11. Farmor's Flowtrail 1.7 km
Description: Farmors Flow Trail is a dug, gravelled, weather-proofed semi-difficult technical course with different types of berms and rollable jumps. But the more you push, the more you get out of the track.
Technical difficulty: The course contains both dug parts, pumps, balance obstacles and rock rock, but you can avoid them or just cycle the lower loop.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: You need to be able to shift, brake and shift your center of gravity.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Semi-high then some steeper slopes.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
12. Mördarbacken 300 m
Description: Mostly gravel uphill that takes you from the MTB parking lot just to the left of the Pumptrack and up to Anita’s korsning where many of our forest trails begin.
Technical difficulty: Blue – semi-easy trail but can be a bit tricky in a couple of places, but mostly because it is sloping, not because it is technically difficult, if it would have been flat.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: Some – be able to ride uphill.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Partly a little heavier for young people and adults, and children often push the bike a short distance where it is a little steeper and then jump on the bike again.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
13. Bergsleden 3 km
Description: Bergsleden is our most popular forest trail. It is weatherproof and contains gravelled parts, paths and rocky outcrops as it winds its way through forests and over mountains. The trail starts above Mördarbacken at Anita’s korsning and ends either down at Pumptracken or by taking off at the end and then just before Anita’s korsning.
Technical difficulty: Blue – semi-easy trail but at the end you can choose a red finish or go for an easier blue one if you want. Generally, the first half is partially gravelled and very light. The second half is a bit more difficult, even if we have done away with most of the technical tricks. No jumps.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: The first half is low, the second a little higher. You must be able to fully brake, shift, turn and shift your body weight.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Semi-low. The first half is easy then a bit of a physically demanding climb halfway, i.e. when you are going to pass Birgers korsning and are going to cycle up Birgers Berg.
Weather Sensitivity:Weatherproof trail 98% of the route. Footbridges slippery in damp weather. At sub-zero temperatures, ice forms on rocky outcrops
14. Blötloopen 2 km
Description: Blötloopen is a semi-easy forest and rocky trail that is sensitive and sometimes closed during really wet seasons. During the dry half of the year, it is a lovely, fast, winding trail that is definitely worth experiencing. The wet part of the year is also worth experiencing, but then it has other values. The trail starts and ends above Mördarbacken at Anita’s korsning.
Technical difficulty: Blue – semi-easy trail with some short uphill and downhill slopes that are red. If you don’t ride them, you can lead the bike. No jumps.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: There are a lot of heels that you have to climb and steep descents that you have to be able to ride downhill. All in all, it places high demands on you to be skilled at shifting, braking, moving your center of gravity and mastering technical turns.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Higher. The trail has many small but steeply sloping climbs and descents from a couple of altitude meters and up. It requires that you as a cyclist are strong or are prepared to get off the bike from time to time and go uphill.
Weather Sensitivity: The trail runs partly low-lying and on humus-based paths. This makes the trail very wet in some places during wet periods. Periodically, we close the trail if it is too wet.

21. Flowparken Extrabackar 300 m
Description: Flowparken’s Xtrabackar is a tech track area that is connected to Toppturen, Toppflow, Ekhagen’s uppförsled and Arvid’s Flowtrail. There are lots of trail choices but everything is dug, gravelled and weatherproofed. The idea is that you should be able to choose the level of difficulty within the same area and the same slopes by using built-in jumps or rolling alongside them.
Technical difficulty: Red – semi-difficult. The track contains dug parts, pumps and jumps but you can roll past them at the same time.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: You need to be skilled at mountain biking, shifting, braking, and shifting your center of gravity up and down steep slopes. You need to be able to handle jumps but can also roll past them.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Semi-high.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.

Physical demands on the cyclist: Higher. The trail has many small but steeply sloping climbs and descents from a couple of altitude meters and up. It requires that you as a cyclist are strong or are prepared to get off the bike from time to time and go uphill.
Weather Sensitivity: The first half is mostly secured against the worst of the wet. The second half, after you have crossed the Mountain Trail, starts drier and the finish from Birgers korsning goes fully on mountain and gravel trail. In the really wet season, you can cycle almost dry-shod by combining, for example, Gröngölingen’s first half with the Bergsloopen from Birgers Korsning to the finish.
24. Berg & dalbanan 5.1 km
Description: The roller coaster is a semi-difficult but physically demanding, longer forest and rock trail. Here you really have to push yourself but the reward is all the nice sub-episodes and that when you are done, you can feel very satisfied with your effort. MTB racers ride these types of trails, 5-6-7 laps in a row! The trail starts and ends at Anita’s korsning, which you reach after Mördarbacken.
Technical difficulty: Red – the trail has many uphill and steep descents that you should be able to ride. It also passes many passages with steep sides. No jumps.
Technical requirements for the cyclist: You need to be skilled at mountain biking, shifting, braking, and shifting your center of gravity up and down steep slopes.

Technical requirements for the cyclist: You need to be very skilled at mountain biking and shifting, braking and shifting your center of gravity, and handling jumps.
Physical demands on the cyclist: Semi-high.
Weather Sensitivity: Weatherproof.
26. Havsleden 4,3 km
Description: Havsleden is perhaps the most beautiful of our trails and eventually takes you out to the Baltic sea. There you can park your bike and walk down a steep mountain down to the water perhaps for a swim. It is a forest and rock trail that copes well with wet seasons. The trail starts and ends at cell tower, which you can reach a bit into Bergsleden or after the footbridge a third of the way into Bergsloopen. Watch out for oncoming cyclists in the first and final sections. Be careful when crossing the tarmac road.
Technical difficulty: Red – semi-difficult as there are a lot of heels that you have to climb and steep descents that you have to be able to cycle down, or you walk down just these short sections. No jumps.

Development of Bergs Gård MTB arena
We are investing in the development of rural areas and we are very pleased that we have been granted project support from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
The project consists of:
• Construction of a new hiking trail – a circular loop of about six kilometres adjacent to the Sörmlandsleden.
• Two shelters – one at the new trail and one at the existing MTB/hiking trail (tHavsleden).
• Construction of two accessible MTB trails (flow trails) – one longer and one shorter.
• Three information signs/trail maps.
• Signage of MTB trails.
• A service building (which is open to all) containing a bicycle wash, a repair workshop for guests, a RWC toilet and a shower.
The purpose of the project is to meet the increased demand for tourists by developing more trails, both hiking and biking trails, as well as the services around these trails to become an even better outdoor destination in Södermanland.
The goal of the project is for Bergs Gård to remain a strong player in the region for active outdoor recreation and for visitors to stay in the area by having more and more attractive activities.
